Software Quality and Test Engineer - Quality Intelligence

This role will work within our innovative Data & Technology group that continues to evolve to meet business needs, fuel Parexel's growth and enable improved support for stakeholders, including customers and ultimately patients, who will benefit from Parexel's integrated processes and systems.

The role can be based in either Poland , Lithuania, Serbia or Romania and can be fully home based (in the countries stated). You will be working in an innovative and collaborative environment with international peers, colleagues and a supportive manager.

As the Software Quality Test Engineer - Quality Intelligence you will be responsible for independently executing and contributing to software quality assurance and testing activities across web-based applications, AI, APIs, and data-oriented platforms.

In this position you will take an active role in the development and maintenance of test capabilities, frameworks, CI/CD pipeline testing integration, and apply working knowledge of Software Development & Risk based testing, AI concepts and data structures and validation to quality assurance activities.

You will collaborate closely with testers, developers, business analysts, product analysts, and internal customers to ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality software solutions.

The systems supported may include platforms that indirectly support clinical trial operations, you will also be responsible for ensuring the highest level of software quality by developing and executing on test strategy throughout the software development lifecycle and contributing to process improvement.

Finally you will be working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance software quality, improve test coverage, and support both automation and manual testing initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

Test Planning and Execution

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web-based applications and APIs with minimal guidance.

• Execute and oversee manual and automated test cases across functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing scenarios.

• Log, track, and manage defects through resolution using designated test management and defect tracking tools.

Test Automation and CI/CD Integration

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using established automation frameworks.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices within the D&T function.

• Maintain and version-control test assets and automation code in GitHub.

Quality Intelligence and Data Validation

• Apply working knowledge of data storage concepts including data lakes and data warehousing to support data quality testing activities

• Design and execute validation approaches and plans for data structures, data integrity, and data flows within assigned testing scope

• Support testing of AI-assisted features and tools by applying practical understanding of AI prompting, agents, natural language processing (NLP), and large language models (LLMs)

Collaboration and Communication

• Work effectively and independently with testers, developers, business analysts, product analysts, and internal customers throughout the software development and quality lifecycles.

• Participate actively project planning, review, and retrospective meetings.

• Communicate testing status, defect findings, and quality observations clearly and professionally in English to internal stakeholders

• Maintain accurate and traceable quality records including test cases, test results, and process documentation

Education:

• Education to degree level in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field required

• Relevant certifications in software testing or quality assurance recommended but not mandatory, such as:

• ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Level Certification, Agile or Scrum certifications (e.g., CSM, PSM), Azure DevOps-related certifications, or AI data-related certifications are desirable.

Skills:

• Solid understanding of web application and API testing concepts and techniques.

• Demonstrated experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipeline integration.

• Working knowledge of data storage concepts including data lakes and data warehousing including system integrity validation.

• Working knowledge of data structure concepts including structured data validation.

• Practical understanding of AI concepts including prompting, agents, natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs).

• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as TestRail and Azure DevOps or comparable.

• Proficiency with version control tools such as GitHub or comparable.

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Azure DevOps Test for pipeline and test management or comparable.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted productivity tools such as Co-Pilot, Claude Code, Open AI Codex, etc.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

• Attention to detail and thoroughness in test documentation

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - enjoys solving problems

• Ability to work independently and manage assigned deliverables with minimal supervision

• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within deadlines

Knowledge and Experience:

• Previous software testing experience in Software Quality Assurance, Testing, or a related technical role is required operating either as a Software Tester, Validation Engineer or Quality Assurance Engineer.

• Demonstrated experience developing and executing test plans and test cases for web-based applications and APIs.

• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipeline integration

• Working experience with defect tracking and test management platforms, such as TestRail and Azure DevOps

• Practical experience with data validation concepts including data structures, data integrity, and data storage

• Familiarity with AI tools and concepts and tools including LLMs NLP, agentic AI development tools, and AI assisted applications

• Experience with version control tools such as GitHub or comparable.
